Upside Down Text Generator
Flip your text upside down using Unicode look-alike characters, then copy it into a bio or comment so it reads correctly when someone turns their phone over.
The whole string is reversed and each letter swapped for an upside-down look-alike, so it reads right when your phone is turned over. A handful of letters don't have a good flipped twin and stay as they are.
How it works
The trick has two parts: reverse the order of the characters, then swap each one for an upside-down look-alike. A 'd' becomes a 'p', an 'e' becomes 'ǝ', and so on, so the reversed string reads as your original phrase — flipped.
These stand-ins are ordinary Unicode characters, which is why the flipped text pastes into a chat, a bio, or a comment without needing any special formatting.
A few letters and symbols don't have a convincing upside-down partner, so they're left as they are. The effect still reads clearly for whole words and sentences.
Frequently asked questions
How is this different from just reversing text?
Reversing only flips the order, so 'cat' becomes 'tac'. This tool also rotates each letter, so turning your screen upside down makes it read as the original word rather than backwards.
Why do a couple of characters look normal?
Some letters, like 'o', 's', 'x', and 'z', already look the same upside down, and a handful have no good flipped form in Unicode, so those are left unchanged.
Can I flip it back?
Run the flipped text through the tool again and it returns close to the original, since the swap is its own reverse for most characters. Any letters that stayed put won't be affected either way.
