Time Converter
A timeout in milliseconds, a shift in hours, a deadline in weeks — enter one duration and see it spelled out in every unit.
How it works
Seconds are the base unit. Your value converts to seconds first, then out to minutes, hours, days, weeks, and milliseconds. Type once and every row settles into place without a submit step.
The jumps aren't uniform, which is what makes mental math awkward. There are 60 seconds in a minute and 60 minutes in an hour, but 24 hours in a day and 7 days in a week — three different multipliers stacked together.
Milliseconds show up in code and stopwatches. One second is 1,000 of them, so a 250 ms delay is a quarter second. This grid keeps you from fumbling those zeros when you're converting timeouts.
Frequently asked questions
How many seconds are in a day?
A day is 86,400 seconds — that's 24 hours times 3,600 seconds per hour. It's a number worth memorizing since it shows up constantly in scheduling and rate math.
How many hours are in a week?
A week runs 168 hours, from 7 days times 24. A standard 40-hour work week is under a quarter of that, which puts the rest of your time in perspective.
How do I convert milliseconds to seconds?
Divide by 1,000. So 1,500 ms is 1.5 seconds. Set the from-unit to milliseconds, type the value, and the seconds row shows it directly.
