Days Until Date Calculator
Choose the date you're waiting on and watch the countdown fill in — days to go, roughly how many weeks, and what that looks like in months.
How it works
The tool reads today's date from your device, then measures the straight-line gap to the date you enter. The headline number is whole days remaining.
Weeks come from dividing those days by seven, so you'll often see a decimal — five and a half weeks reads as 5.5, which is more useful than rounding it off.
The calendar-terms line breaks the same span into months and days, since 'about two months out' lands differently than '61 days' when you're planning.
Frequently asked questions
Does today count in the total?
The count is the number of full days between today and your target, so today itself isn't included. A date set for tomorrow shows one day to go.
What happens if I pick a date that already passed?
You'll get a short note that the date is in the past instead of a negative number. Switch to a future date and the countdown reappears.
Why are weeks shown with a decimal?
Days rarely divide evenly into weeks, so trimming the remainder would hide part of the wait. The decimal keeps the figure accurate, like 3.3 weeks for 23 days.
Do months here mean exactly 30 days?
No — the months-and-days line follows the real calendar, counting whole months from today and then the leftover days, so it matches how you'd actually mark it off.
